Know Your Fruit

You know those stickers on grocery produce that your check-out guy/gal always has a hard time finding? Well, believe it or not they do more than just assign pricing. You can use them to figure out if your buying conventional, GM or organic produce. (Below from nofruitstickers)

0000

A group of four numbers indicates conventionally grown produce, sprayed with chemicals and pesticides.

8(0000)

A group of five numbers starting with the number 8 indicates genetically modified produce (GMO), unclear as to whether or not the produce was treated with chemicals but more than likely.

9(0000)

A group of five numbers starting with the number 9 indicates organically grown produce, not treated with chemicals or pesticides.
